For nearly 30 years, G. R. N'Namdi Gallery has been internationally recognized as one of the most influential contemporary abstract art galleries.  The Gallery, established in 1981, by George N'Namdi in Detroit, Michigan, maintains its mission that the collector develops an appreciation for the historical value of the arts, while increasing awareness of abstract art and inspiring a new generation of art collectors.    

With a gallery in Chicago and an soon to open art complex in Detroit, G.R. N'Namdi Gallery, has led the way in exhibiting African American and international artists, modern abstractionist.  The gallery has built private collections and has enriched home of collectors around the world. G. R. N'Namdi Gallery's clientele include highly acclaimed museums such as: The Art Institute of Chicago; The Detroit Institute of the Arts; The Metropolitan Museum; The Studio Museum of Harlem; The Museum of Modern Art in New York; major private and corporate collectors; along with individuals interested in building a taste for abstraction.  

The artists are featured in prominent museums globally; some of whom have competed in the Venice & Whitney Biennialles.  Past and present exhibitions include artists from the Americas and Europe, including Ed Clark, Frank Bowling, Robert Colescott, Howardena Pindell, Richard Mayhew, Nanette Carter, Allie McGhee, Vicente Pimentel, Mauro Machado, Charles Searles, Al Loving and modern historical artists such as Charles Alston, Romare Bearden, Elizabeth Catlett, Herb Gentry, Vincent Smith, Lois Mailou Jones, Artis Lane, Hughie Lee Smith, Bob Thompson, and Beauford Delaney.

G. R. N'Namdi Gallery has made significant contributions towards educating the public about fine art through lectures and publications.  In February, 2008, the gallery celebrated the premier edition of its biannual publication, "The Collector."
